Enter the municipality of Imoz/Imotz, a few kilometers from Pamplona, the heart of Navarra.
The balcony of the vultures
Among the well-known Peñas de Dos Hermanas and following the path of the old Plazaola train (Pamplona-Donostia), is the Balcón de los Buitres, so called because the griffon vultures that inhabit these rocks can be seen from its highest point.
This route begins in Irurtzun in the place where the Plazaola Greenway station was located. There is an information panel that will give us details about this route with splendid landscapes.
From that point we will walk to the hermitage of Trinidad de Erga and we will keep to the left taking a path that introduces us to an oak grove. Continuing here you will reach the top of Allegain with beautiful views of Irurtzun.
From here and returning to the main path, we will have reached this balcony, where we will be able to observe the entire Sakana corridor and contemplate these impressive birds.
